Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the full story:<\/p>\n<p>My wife received a text message on her phone. It was written in typical text fashion; broken, abbreviated words; random strings of codes. But one part stood out; at the end, it said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Txt STOP 2 un subscribe\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or something like that. Thinking that she was doing the right thing, she replied \u00e2\u20ac\u0153STOP\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. My guess is that this is a thinly veiled way to scam people. My guess is that had she ignored the text, it would have been fine. But she replied.<\/p>\n<p>The result? On this month\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s phone bill, WAY at the bottom, in the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Full Bill\u00e2\u20ac\u009d view, you know- the pseudo-paper one that most people may not look at, was the following charge:<\/p>\n<table border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"2\" width=\"800\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"160\">&nbsp;<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"160\">Besthoroscopesonline<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"160\">DottedLineMedia           <br \/>For assistance contact: 1-800-331-0500<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"160\">9.99           <\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"160\">&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>There is a web site called <a href=\"http:\/\/whocallsme.com\/Phone-Number.aspx\/8003310500\"><strong><font size=\"3\">whocallsme.com<\/font><\/strong><\/a>, where you can check phone numbers, and see who it belongs to, and people leave messages about who it was that called them. Clearly, this is a big scam, and probably many different items appear instead of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Besthoroscopesonline\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. However, they all seem to come from this phone number, 1-800-331-0500.<\/p>\n<p>Wife asks, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Why don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t the cops get them?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Indeed.
